1. Who these terms are between
These terms and conditions apply to every registration made through leidenevent2026.nl/AI-training for the "Practical Training: AI for Tax Professionals" training series (the "Training"), organised by Stichting International Tax Center Leiden, a foundation (stichting) registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 27169660, VAT identification number NL8097.23.207.B01, registered office at Rapenburg 65, 2311 GJ Leiden, the Netherlands (the "Organiser", "we"). The person registering is the "Participant" or "you". Where the Training is publicised under the ITC Leiden name, that is a trading name of the Organiser.
2. The Training
The Training consists of three live online sessions of two hours each, delivered in English without any programming component, plus an optional in-person day in Leiden. Live sessions are recorded and made available as a replay to registrants for the period stated on the registration page. Exact session dates, instructors, and the in-person schedule are as published on the registration page at the time of your registration.
3. How a booking is made
Submitting the registration form is an offer to attend the Training on these terms. Your registration is confirmed once we send you a confirmation email; until then, no contract exists. You are responsible for the accuracy of the name, email address, and other details you provide — we are not liable for a missed confirmation or session link sent to an incorrect address you supplied.
4. Price, the alumni rate, and VAT
Prices are quoted in euro (EUR) on the registration page. The reduced "ITC Leiden alumni" rate is available only to registrants who are alumni of ITC Leiden, subject to verification, and only if registration and payment are completed by the deadline stated on the page. No other discount (including for teams or volume) is available unless separately agreed in writing with the Organiser.
The Training is exempt from Dutch VAT as a cost-covering lecture/course supplied by a foundation for the promotion of science or general development under Art. 11(1)(p) of the Dutch Turnover Tax Act 1968 (Wet op de omzetbelasting 1968) in conjunction with Art. 7 of the Implementing Regulation. Prices are therefore VAT-exempt.
Payment is made through the Organiser's payment portal referenced on the registration page. Your place is confirmed only once payment has been received in full.
5. Right of withdrawal (cooling-off period)
If you register as a consumer — that is, other than in the exercise of your profession or business — Dutch and EU consumer law would ordinarily give you 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason (Art. 6:230o Dutch Civil Code, implementing the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU). Because the Training is a service tied to a specific date or period (the announced session and event dates), it falls within the statutory exception in Art. 6:230p(e) of the Dutch Civil Code for services relating to leisure activities to be performed on a specific date — in the same way a ticket to a dated event does. As a result, the 14-day withdrawal right does not apply once you register for specific, dated sessions.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your registration by emailing admin@leidenevent2026.nl.
- 7 or more days before your first session: full refund.
- Less than 7 days before your first session: no refund, but you may transfer your place to a colleague free of charge, or credit the full amount you paid toward a future edition of this or another ITC Leiden alumni training, on request.
- In-person day: the same 7-day threshold applies; travel or accommodation costs you have separately incurred are never covered by the Organiser.
7. If the Organiser has to change or cancel a session
If an instructor falls ill, or a session cannot go ahead for a reason beyond the Organiser's reasonable control (force majeure), the Organiser will reschedule the session or offer a replay/alternative date. If no suitable alternative can be arranged within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a full refund of the fee paid for the affected session.
8. Materials, recordings, and intellectual property
Slides, recordings, and any other materials provided are for your own personal, professional use only. You may not redistribute, publish, or resell them, or make them available to anyone who has not registered for the Training, without the Organiser's prior written consent.
9. Confidentiality — what you bring to the sessions
The live sessions involve using AI tools on real, illustrative examples. Do not upload, paste, or otherwise expose client-identifying information, privileged material, or any data you are not authorised to share into any tool used during the sessions, whether shared on screen or on your own device. Session 2 covers confidentiality and tool data-handling in more detail; the practical rule for every session is the same.
10. Liability
The Training is professional development content and general information about using AI tools in tax practice. It is not legal, tax, or professional advice for any specific matter, and the Organiser is not liable for decisions made in reliance on the Training content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded as a matter of Dutch law, such as liability for death, personal injury, or intent or gross negligence on the Organiser's part. Beyond that, the Organiser's liability for any claim relating to the Training is limited to the amount you paid for it.
11. Complaints
If something about your registration, the sessions, or payment has gone wrong, please email admin@leidenevent2026.nl. We aim to acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and resolve it within 14 days.
12. Privacy
Personal data submitted with your registration is handled as described in the separate Privacy Statement, which forms part of these terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute arising from or in connection with the Training or a registration, are governed exclusively by the law of the Netherlands. Disputes will be submitted to the competent Dutch court for the district of The Hague (Rechtbank Den Haag), which has jurisdiction over Leiden, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rule that allows you to bring a claim in your own place of residence.
14. Changes to these terms
The Organiser may update these terms from time to time; the version published on the registration page at the time you register is the one that applies to your booking.
